​Hey Rural Water Professionals!

Ohio Rural Water Association is proud to invite Ohio's rural water and wastewater professionals to our first ever Fishing Tournament. Located on the pristine waters of the City of Jackson Water Reservoir our inaugural fishing tournament should prove to be a day of quality education, networking, and fun!

What's all Entailed?

The Fishing tournament comes in two parts. The day will begin with an hour long training session and end with a two hour long session hosted by our sponsors Utility Technologies and Mueller. In between will be the fishing tournament which will last for 3 hours. A BBQ lunch and a small continental breakfast will be included as part of the registration.

How Does the Tournament Work?

During the 3-hour fishing tournament you will be given a kayak (optional) to explore the reservoir and fish. You will depart at 9:00 a.m. and must be back by 12:00 p.m.

When you catch a fish you must take a picture of it with your phone next to an official open tape measurer displaying the length of the fish. This picture will be texted to a number provided at the tournament. This number will serve as a record of your catch. The tape measurer will be provided at the tournament.

There will be a trophy for both the most fishes caught and the longest fish caught provided by Buckeye State Pipe.

What Do I Need to Bring?

All you need to bring is your fishing pole & bait, fishing license and a lawn chair if you'd like something more comfortable than a park bench. All safety equipment and boats will be provided by our sponsor Racoon Creek Outfitters

What Happens in Case of Rain-out?

In case of rain-out due to extreme weather conditions we plan to move the event to the Jackson County Fire Department meeting room. The time formerly allocated to fishing will now be taken up by additional CEU tied training provided by ORWA staff.
